Hello this is Jonathan Arius,
I’m talking to you from Colombia in South America. This short video has a purpose. A very special one. I want to give thanks to Johnny Gallagher and his wife Helen from the Restore 2 hope Foundation.

A couple of years ago I was in an interesting situation in Tenerife. I went there to look for new horizons, because I wanted to move there with my wife and my son. I went there first to try and find a way of settling there. I had my own family, Laura and Neal. But I also found more family over there who wholeheartedly helped me. And I want to acknowledge the special help I received from Johnny and Helen. I was needing to earn some money while I was in the process of taking my family to Tenerife. Johnny gave me an opportunity to work with him in the construction business. I had no idea about that. My mother language is Spanish so I had no idea of the names of the tools even in Spanish. Much less in English, because construction was not my thing. During that time I learned much more than helping Johnny plaster houses.

What they gave me is something even more special. It was empowering. They believed in me and helped me to grow as a person and to widen my horizons as well. In the end I decided to come back to Colombia. I’m enjoying a wonderful time here with my wife and my son. When I think back to my time in Tenerife I feel gratefulness and joy for the time I spent there and all the help I received when I was in a more vulnerable place. A great thanks to Johnny and Helen for all the work you did with me. You were specially helpful in the time that I needed it the most.

I want to encourage you to carry on with this wonderful work you’re doing, touching lives and impacting the future of many people. Not only in the place where you are, but all over the world as you can see.
